Manage your Contacts
Dex has features to help you manage your contacts’ details, contact information, and more!
With Dex, you can easily visualize and comprehend the geographical distribution of your network. Simply import your contacts or sync from LinkedIn, and Dex will map them based on their specified locations or addresses.
How it Works:
Moving around the map will change the list of contacts to the map. The map view is only available on the web/desktop app, and will also populate on LinkedIn location values. A few other notes notes:
-
See Nearby Contacts: From a contact screen: next to a contact’s location, click ‘Open in Map’ to see nearby contacts.
-
Contacts by Location: this screen has been removed from the sidebar and is now accessible on the bottom right corner of the map view.
-
Map View Refresh: when locations are edited from the map view, you may need to refresh the map view to see changes updated appropriately.

Connect related contacts easily by adding them as ‘Related Contacts’ in Dex.
Things to Know
-
Bi-directional: when a contact is added as related, the relationship will show up on both contacts.
-
Linkable: in the related contact section, click a contact to navigate to the related contact.
Related Web
On the Related Web page, we made it easier for you to quickly link related contacts through a simple drag-and-drop.
Navigate your groups effortlessly with the Groups Tree feature in Dex. Easily view everyone in your groups and organize with ease.
Things to Know
- Groups Tree will only show groups of < 250 contacts. To ensure a streamlined experience, we limit this view to display only groups containing fewer than 250 contacts. This helps prevent overwhelming the Groups Tree with auto-created groups such as ‘LinkedIn Connections’ or ‘Imported From’ groups.
Enhance ✨
Dex has an ‘Enhance’ feature that will automatically update your contacts by pulling the following information from their LinkedIn profile:
- LinkedIn Bio
- Experience
- Education
- Location
- Profile Photo
- Title
This feature doesn’t work if the LinkedIn profile of your contact is on private.
Manual Enhance
You can also manually trigger the ‘Enhance’ feature on the Contact Card.
When you have a contact open, click the Enhance button (the magic wand) or through the shortcut key CMD + K to get started:
If you didn’t find the specific field you’re looking for, don’t worry! Dex allows you to create Custom Fields tailored to your needs!
You can add 3 types of custom fields:
-
Text: Any text field you want! (i.e. hometown, company, school, spouse, etc.)
-
Category: Use categories to sort your contacts. These are like Text Fields but across multiple contacts.
-
Date: Remember important dates (i.e. anniversaries, graduations, religious celebrations)
