Overview
The iMessage integration seamlessly syncs your messaging activity, capturing both iMessage and SMS exchanges to keep contact timelines current. After installing a lightweight background utility through the Sync & Integrations settings, Dex automatically syncs messages every hour when your computer is online. The system creates contacts from new conversations, places them in a dedicated "iMessage Contacts" group, and updates last interaction timestamps in real-time as messages are sent or received. To maintain privacy, only the most recent message and basic metadata are stored locally on your device—full message histories remain exclusively on your computer. The integration also enriches contact names automatically when previously unnamed numbers are added to your phone. Note: This feature is currently in beta.
