## Your own Dex, plus a workspace for the program team

A foundation’s work runs on relationships: with grantees, co-funders, trustees and the people who know the field. Most of that history lives in individual inboxes and calendars. Dex for Teams gives the program team a shared place for it.

Everyone on the team keeps their own Dex. The workspace is a separate space you add to it. You choose which accounts it sees and which contacts and groups go into it, and your colleagues do the same.

## Build stronger relationships: Walk into the grantee call already caught up

A shared contact’s timeline brings together the email and calendar history colleagues have chosen to share and the notes they’ve added after a site visit or a phone call. Read it before the call, so you pick up where your colleague left off instead of asking a grantee to repeat what they said last month.

## Find connections through colleagues: See who already knows them

Search a person or an organization and see which colleagues are connected and when they last talked. Before you reach out to a grantee’s new executive director or a potential co-funder, check who on the team already knows them and read the context they’ve shared. Then ask them for the introduction.

## Stay in touch: Keep in touch, as a team

Set a frequency per contact or group, for the team or just for yourself: a grantee partner every quarter, a co-funder twice a year. The keep-in-touch list shows who’s due, so a grantee hears from you between the report and the renewal, not only when one of them is coming up.

## The grant is in your system. The relationship is in someone’s inbox.

Foundant, Fluxx and GivingData run the grant: the application, the award, the reports, and the interactions someone took the time to log. Keep them. Dex brings in the email and calendar history each person chooses to share, so the record doesn’t depend on anyone typing it in, and it answers who on the team knows whom. Add a shared note for the phone call or the site visit, and the next person has that too.

Add your own fields, like program area or grant cycle, so the people are organized the way your team already thinks about them.

## History that stays when a program officer moves on

When someone leaves the team, what they shared with the workspace stays, with their name on it: the contacts, the timeline and the shared notes. Their successor starts from the record instead of an empty inbox. Their connected accounts stop feeding the workspace, their open reminders are unassigned for the team to pick up, and their personal Dex leaves with them.

## Share the relationship, not the inbox

Some conversations shouldn’t leave the person who had them. For each connected account, you choose whether the workspace sees nothing, only subjects, participants and dates, or full content, and each note can be shared with the team or kept private. If even the subject line is sensitive, leave that account out. You can change any of this whenever you like. Personal Dex stays private.

## Ask the workspace a question

Connect the workspace to your AI assistant through the Dex MCP server and ask it who on the team knows someone at an organization, or what’s been shared about a contact, from the tools you already use.

## $40 per person per month

A six-person program team is $240 a month; twelve people are $480. Billed monthly. Start with a 14-day free trial of Dex for Teams, no card needed, and add programs as you go.

## Start with one program team

Pick one program and the colleagues who work with the same grantees. Add that program’s contacts and choose what each person shares. Before the next grantee call, open the contact and see whether a colleague’s history changes how you prepare. If it does, invite the next program.

## Built for the people who hold the relationships

- **Foundations and family offices.** Program officers and grants managers who carry the grantee relationships, and leadership who want the team’s history in one place before a board meeting.
- **Funder collaboratives and philanthropic advisors.** Staff who coordinate relationships across several funders and the nonprofit leaders they work with.
- **Nonprofit development teams.** Executive directors and development staff who share the same funders and donors. The workspace works the same way; your donor database keeps the gifts.

## Your team’s data, protected

Dex is funded by subscriptions, not ads, and never sells your data. A workspace holds only what each member chooses to share, and each member can change that at any time.

- **Hosted with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified providers** Servers and databases run in the US with providers audited to both standards.
- **Encrypted in transit and at rest** Every request uses TLS, and stored data is encrypted at the storage level with AES-256.
- **Roles for the whole team** Owner, admin, member and viewer roles set who can add and edit in the workspace and who can only read.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is Dex for Teams for a foundation?

[Dex for Teams](https://getdex.com/teams/) adds a shared workspace to each person’s private Dex. A foundation’s program team uses it to see which colleagues know a grantee’s staff, read the conversation history and notes colleagues have shared, and set follow-up reminders for the team.

### Does Dex replace our grants management system?

No. Keep Foundant, Fluxx, GivingData or Submittable for applications, awards, payments and reporting. Dex doesn’t track grants, gifts or pledges. It holds the relationship side: who knows whom, the shared conversation history and the follow-up. [Import a CSV of contacts](https://getdex.com/integrations/csv-file/) to get started.

### Is history organized by grantee organization or by person?

By person. Each shared contact has a timeline. Search an organization’s name to see which colleagues know people there and when they last talked. Dex doesn’t provide a separate directory of grantee organizations.

### Who on the team should be in the workspace?

Anyone who holds relationships the team depends on: program staff, leadership, grants management. A viewer role gives read-only access. Viewers see what the team has shared, so review what is in the workspace before inviting trustees or occasional participants.

### What happens when a program officer leaves?

What they shared stays in the workspace, with their name on it: contacts, timeline items and shared notes. Their connected accounts stop feeding the workspace, and their open reminders are unassigned for the team to pick up. Anything they never shared, and their personal Dex, leaves with them. An owner or admin removes their access.

### Can we keep sensitive conversations out of the workspace?

Yes, by choosing what to share. For each connected account, each person decides whether the workspace sees nothing, only email subjects, participants and dates, or full content. If even that much is sensitive, leave the account out. Each note can be shared or kept private. Nothing from a personal Dex reaches the workspace unless its owner adds it.

### Does everyone have to connect their inbox?

No. Each person chooses which accounts the workspace sees, and at what level. Someone can take part with only the contacts and notes they add by hand.

### Does it work for a nonprofit’s development team?

Yes. Dex for Teams gives a development team a shared workspace for the funders and donors it works with: who on the team knows the program officer, who talked to the donor last, and who follows up next. Keep your donor database for gifts and pledges.

### Is there nonprofit pricing?

Registered 501(c)(3) organizations can ask support for 50% off an individual Dex plan for the first 12 months. Team seats are $40 per person per month. [Email us](mailto:kevin@getdex.com?subject=Dex%20for%20Teams%20pricing) about your organization and team size.

### How much does Dex for Teams cost?

The Team plan is $40 per user per month, billed monthly. [Email us](mailto:kevin@getdex.com?subject=Dex%20for%20Teams%20pricing) to set up your team, or to ask about pricing for a larger one.

### Is there a free trial?

Yes. [Start a 14-day free trial of Dex for Teams](https://getdex.com/app?trialcode=NEWUSER), no card needed, then create a workspace from Settings, then Team, and invite your team.

### Can we book a demo or ask a question?

Yes. [Book a short demo with our team](https://calendly.com/dex-for-teams/dex-for-teams), or [email us](mailto:kevin@getdex.com?subject=Dex%20for%20Teams%20question) and we’ll get back to you.
