# Be the recruiter they call when they’re hiring.

Dex helps you remember the details and stay in touch with the candidates you placed and the hiring managers who trusted you, so you’re the first call when they’re hiring again.

## A recruiting CRM for the years between searches

Bullhorn, Loxo and Ezekia are built to run a search, from the open req to the submittal. Dex gives the people behind those searches a home of their own.

The candidate you placed three years ago is a hiring manager now. Dex keeps the history of how you met and what they wanted next, and reminds you to check in before their next search goes to someone else.

## Bring the whole history to the next call

Sync Gmail and Google Calendar, plus iMessage and phone call history through the Dex desktop app on a Mac.

Connect WhatsApp for 1:1 chats. The intro, the offer and the reference call stay with the person, long after the search closes.

## Stay close after the start date

Give hiring managers a 30-day keep-in-touch frequency, placed candidates 90 days and your wider network a year. Set it by group or by contact.

Your Keep-in-touch list shows who’s due. Pick someone, make the call, and hear about the role before it’s posted.

## Walk into every meeting already caught up

Before a calendar meeting, Dex emails you a brief with context on the person you’re about to meet.

Dex Research builds a briefing on a hiring manager or candidate, covering their background, current role and what’s changed since you last talked. Premium includes 10 credits a month, Professional 20.

## Turn “I should check in” into a first draft

Ask Dex Copilot, “Which hiring managers haven’t I talked to this quarter?” It answers from your contact and interaction history, then drafts the check-in.

You edit and send the message. Copilot helps with the first draft; the relationship is still yours.

## Save the detail before the next interview

Add a note after a candidate call while it’s fresh. Scan a business card at an industry event before it ends up in a drawer.

Use Dex on iPhone or Android between meetings, then open it on the web, Mac or Windows when you’re back at your desk.

## Give your network the follow-up it needs

Use Dex alongside your ATS. Keep open roles and pipelines there, and give placed candidates and hiring managers a regular place in your week.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best CRM for an independent recruiter?

Choose around how your business comes in. Bullhorn, Loxo and Ezekia are built to run searches, with req pipelines, submittals and client reporting.

If most of your revenue comes from repeat clients and referrals, Dex gives those relationships a place of their own. Keep contact history and notes together, then set reminders to reach out. Plans start at $12 a month billed annually.

### Can Dex replace my ATS?

No. Dex doesn’t provide req pipelines, job posting, candidate sourcing or outreach sequences.

Keep your ATS for open roles. Use Dex for the people you want to keep after the search closes, such as placed candidates, hiring managers, references and former colleagues.

### How much does a recruiting CRM cost?

A recruiting ATS commonly costs about $85 to $200+ per seat per month, often on an annual contract.

Dex Premium is $12 a month billed annually or $20 month to month. Professional is $20 a month billed annually. Both include a 7-day free trial, with a card required. Cancel any time. [Compare plans](https://getdex.com/pricing/).

### Who owns my network when I leave a firm?

Check your employment agreement and who holds the ATS contract before you build your relationships there. The seat usually belongs to the firm.

With Dex, you own your account and can export contacts at any time. Keep the firm’s ATS for its searches, and use Dex for the relationships you want to carry through your career.

### How often should I keep in touch with placed candidates?

Try 30 days for hiring managers with an active need, 90 days for placed candidates in their first year and once a year for your wider network. Adjust for each person.

Set a keep-in-touch frequency per contact or group in Dex, plus specific-date reminders for start dates and work anniversaries. A note on the one-year mark lands when they’re deciding whether to stay.

### Does Dex sync texts, calls and WhatsApp?

Dex syncs iMessage and phone call history through the Dex desktop app on a Mac. WhatsApp 1:1 chats sync through the [WhatsApp integration](https://getdex.com/integrations/whatsapp/). There’s no Android SMS sync.

Dex also syncs Gmail and Google Calendar.

### Does Dex send mass emails or sequences?

Professional includes mail merge: one personalized email to a group, such as a market note to the hiring managers you placed with last year.

Dex doesn’t run outreach sequences or drip campaigns. Copilot can draft individual messages, but you edit and send them yourself.

### Does Dex work with Bullhorn, Loxo or Ezekia?

There’s no native integration today. You can [import a CSV](https://getdex.com/integrations/csv-file/) exported from your ATS to get started, and export your Dex contacts as a CSV at any time.

Most recruiters keep the ATS for open roles and use Dex for the relationships that outlast them. See the full list of [integrations](https://getdex.com/integrations/).

### Can my team share contacts?

Dex for Teams is in early access for search firms. It adds a shared workspace so the firm can see who knows whom, while each recruiter keeps a personal Dex.

Email contact@getdex.com to ask about early access. Individual plans are listed on the [pricing page](https://getdex.com/pricing/).

### Is there a free trial?

Yes. Premium and Professional both include a 7-day free trial. A card is required, and you can cancel any time.

Signup is self-serve, with no demo call or setup fee. Start with a few placed candidates and try the follow-up routine yourself.
