# Dex for AI agents

Dex runs a hosted MCP server. Point your client at it once and your assistant gains eleven tools on your network: search and enrich contacts, log meetings, set reminders, organize tags and groups — no exports, no local install, no second contact list.

## Server

Endpoint: https://mcp.getdex.com/mcp. Authentication is OAuth 2.0 in the browser, or a bearer API key. MCP access requires a Dex Professional subscription.

## Connect a client

- **Claude** — install the Dex connector from the Claude directory and sign in with your Dex account: https://claude.ai/directory/d2e2a6d0-4e91-45a1-9937-f0f8df5a1de4?q=DEX
- **ChatGPT** — enable the Dex app and authorize access to your network: https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_69a79848c5708191b157a64ff93bc799?q=DEX
- **Any other client** — Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, and Zed point at the hosted server directly. Setup: https://getdex.com/docs/ai/mcp-server

## What the tools reach

Every field on the record is readable and writeable. Search, create, update, and merge contacts. Manage tags, groups, notes, reminders, and custom fields. Your assistant operates on the same records you see in Dex — no export, no sync job, no second copy to reconcile.
